Slippery Wen Wett, the 3rd of ten dexterity test/exhibition events on the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club’s 2012 calendar is set to take place on Sunday, April 22 at the Tyre Warehouse location in Portmore, St Catherine, starting at 2pm. Competitors from across the island will converge on the sunshine community to bring thrills and excitement to the eastern end of the island, as the championship has had events both in western and central Jamaica so far.

“The day got off to a great start on Saturday with cars and bikes from four countries competing at “The Base” in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia for the third running of this event here since being introduced by Neil Beepat back in December of 2009. Now in the hands of “Landmark Events” the largest gathering of race cars ever seen in St. Lucia got down to business by taking part in the “Test and Tune” stage of the event. Some very impressive times were laid down by the visitors with cars from both Trinidad and Grenada running in the 9’s! St. Vincent and St. Lucia are running almost neck and neck with several cars into the 11’s with the Vincy’s having a slight edge. Hopefully on Sunday St. Lucia will see the return of Neil Beepats “Khaos” which ran 9’s in the last event.”
Engine tuning involves much more than picking random parts especially a naturally aspirated motor. N/a boys don’t have the privilege of “just turning up boost” and any tweaking of fuel maps would be limited to the main purpose of the car, you won’t be getting anywhere near 100whp on your next n/a mod but a proper header aka extractor will help you make power. But one must understand the science behind those metal tubes hanging off your engine block. A header can help make more power, and a poorly designed one can inherently bring whatever power you had down.
